From the sharp lines of its super-formed aluminium exterior to the hand-crafted hides and veneers that adorn the interior, the expertise of Bentley’s craftsmen is evident throughout the Flying Spur W12. Every seam in the A-Grade leather is individually sewn. Every layer of veneer is lacquered and polished by hand. The entire cabin, from the wood and the leather to the architecture that supports the car’s digital technology has been fitted by hand.
While the 6 litre W12 engine can propel the Flying Spur W12 from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 199 mph, the environment inside remains one of absolute calm – not least because of the specially-designed soundproofing installed in the floor and the doors.
DESIGN
EXTERIOR DESIGN
The Bentley marque’s characteristic curves meet crisp, clean new edges in a remarkably sleek silhouette.
The side feature line runs along the car from the rear wheel arch in parallel with the low roof, down to its hand-fitted chrome front grille. The bi-Xenon headlights with daylight-running LEDs complete a powerful visage when viewed from head on.
There is no doubt that the Flying Spur is an elegant luxury sedan. Yet the strong rear haunch and the wrap-around tail lamps conspire to betray the Bentley heritage – and the power the car conceals within.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Despite the Flying Spur’s powerful nature, every occupant enjoys generous legroom. From the organ-stop air vent controls to the touch screen Infotainment system and the Touch Screen Remote in back, passengers alike have never enjoyed so much control over their environment.
MATERIALS
The veneers used for the mirror-matched waistrails and dashboard, the matching glasses case in the console and the picnic tables behind the front seats are all carefully fitted by hand. Cured for 72 hours, they are treated with five layers of clear lacquer to enhance their natural beauty. The result is a series of stunning, mirror-matched surfaces that flow seamlessly into the soft, tactile leather of the Flying Spur's interior.
Every hand-upholstered leather seat is individually sewn, hand-fitted and signed by the upholsterer on the back of the hide, which undergoes a traditional tanning process beforehand, to give it a rich, luxurious leather aroma.
MULLINER SPECIFICATION
In the early days of the motor car, Mulliner became the coachbuilder of choice for Britain’s discerning motorists – many of whom drove Bentleys. Mulliner craftsmanship soon became legendary and in 1959, the company finally became part of Bentley.
Today, the Flying Spur W12 Mulliner continues this proud tradition of handcrafted excellence. In addition to the luxurious specification of the Flying Spur W12, it sports subtle design details such as 21” five-spoke two-piece alloy wheels, designed alongside the car at the Bentley factory in Crewe. The Mulliner name adorns the treadplates and the chrome details on the wing vent.
Inside, the theme continues with diamond-quilted seats and door panels with perforated hides, drilled alloy sports pedals and a knurled sports gear lever. Throughout the car, Mulliner’s sporting heritage is combined exquisitely with the handcrafted luxury of the Flying Spur.

For the exterior, you can choose from over 100 colours. Inside, the choice widens, with a huge range of hides and veneers to complement options for seat sandwich piping, contrast stitching, cross stitching and cross banding. The options are many; the combinations virtually limitless.
PERFORMANCE
ENGINE
The 6 litre W12 engine is capable of 616 bhp and produces a maximum torque of 800 Nm. It can propel the Flying Spur's speed from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds – and on to a top speed of 199 mph.

TRANSMISSION
All-wheel drive with 40:60 front-to-rear torque split guarantees sure-footed performance, while the 8-speed transmission ensures the car is always in the optimum gear, so it is responsive at low speeds and incredibly smooth, even through multiple gear changes. The new engine management system, meanwhile, combines with new chassis hardware and software to give you total control, while also delivering better range.

INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM
The Flying Spur features the very latest in-car technology, with a touchscreen front Infotainment system which allows both driver and front passenger to operate the navigation system and adjust the audio, telephone, ride and comfort settings.
BLUETOOTH AND WIFI
With the optional Multimedia Specification, the rear seats include DVD players, wireless headphones and LCD screens, along with ports enabling you to connect consoles, tablets, cameras, music players and mobile phones. This option also provides the Flying Spur with its very own new WiFi hotspot, providing internet access for tablets, laptops and phones – and the internal 64 GB hard drive has enough room to share practically anything that can be stored on a modern day digital device.
IPOD/MP3 CONNECTIVITY
In the console in the back, lies a detachable, Touch Screen Remote. Relaxing in the hand-upholstered rear seats, passengers can adjust the climate settings, seat heating and ventilation, radio and navigation system and multimedia features.
SOUND SYSTEM
The optional 1100 watt 13 channel Naim™ for Bentley Premium Audio System delivers incredible sound, wherever you sit in the car. Each of the Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) speakers combine the functions of a separate tweeter and midrange speaker in one unit. Sited in the fascia, rear quarter panels and rear parcel shelf , they make it possible to direct the sound with accuracy, while providing incredible clarity throughout the audible spectrum.
